Renier is currently a PhD student at Stellenbosch University, South Africa and has been part of the CEMAGG group since 2005 with a break between 2007 and 2009 when he worked as a part time researcher at the Process Engineering Department of Stellenbosch University.

As part of his PhD he is looking at the Method of Manufactured solutions as a method to test general computational EM code. Specifically for the Finite Element Method but possibly also for the Method of Moments. Other research interests include software testing and general computational techniques.
