The Computational Electromagnetics Group (CEMAGG) at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa is based in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

We study computational methods of finding numerical solutions to Maxwell's equations. Our interests include the application of Finite Element Method (FEM), Method of Moments (MoM) and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) techniques to high frequency electromagnetic field problems, with typical application to antenna and microwave engineering.

PEC cavity, eigen-analysis PEC cavity, eigen-analysis

Eigen-analysis of a circular, cylindrical PEC cavity of height 0.5m and radius 1m obtained by the finite element method. The domain is discretized with 497 tetrahedral elements and LT/QN basis functions are used to approximate the vector field. The computed TM010 and TM110 are modes shown (Ez-component).
